Attic24 Sampler Blanket, part 6.
So, again I have allowed my stitching to pull ahead of my writing. I had my second Covid vaccine yesterday, so I'm glued to my sofa today, feeling pretty rough, but trying to catch up. I also picked K(14) up from camp last night (along with his suitcase full of wet and dirty washing!) but he had a wonderful time, and is even talking about going back as a volunteer once he is old enough. 💕
In my last post we had just completed row 66 (you can find that post here: https://nataliemccrochet.blogspot.com/2021/07/attic24-sampler-blanket-part-5.html )
Row 67: Switch to blush, chain 2 (counts as first htc), htc in each stitch to end.
Row 68: Switch to violet, chain 1 (doesn't count as a stitch), dc in the same stitch, *skip 1 stitch, make a V stitch in the next stitch (tc, ch, tc), skip 1 stitch, dc in the next stitch* to end, dc in the final stitch. This sets up the next few rows of dune seashells, and is the same as our row 20.
Row 69: Chain 1 (doesn't count as a stitch), dc in same stitch, dc in next stitch, *5tc shell in top of V stitch (you're making these stitches into the chain 1 space), dc in next dc,* repeat to end. This is the same as row 21.
Row 70: Switch to bluebell, chain 3, tc in same space (these two stitches work together as a V stitch), *skip 2 stitches, dc in next stitch, skip 2 stitches, V stitch in next stitch,* repeat to end, tc in final stitch. This is the same as row 22.
Row 71: Chain 2, tc in next stitch, 2tc in top of V (working into the chain 1 space as before), this creates a half shell and a relatively straight edge. Now work a dc in the next dc of the previous row, *5tc in top of V stitch, dc in next dc,* repeat until the final V, work 2tc in the V, then 1tc in the second chain of your chain 3 from the previous row. This is the same as row 23.
Row 72: Switch to pistachio, repeat row 68, working your V stitches in the top of your dcs from the previous row, and your dcs into the centre treble of the five.
Row 73: Repeat row 69.
Row 74: Switch to saffron, this row finishes off our seashells, and brings our stitch count back to 150. Chain 2, dc in next stitch, these 2 count as our first tc2together; *hdc, dc, hdc, tc2tog over next 2 trebles - skip the dc in between,* repeat until 1 stitch remaining, tc in this final stitch.
Now we're going to work a stitch that I had never done before! It's the hydrangea stitch, and the original tutorial can be found here: Attic24: Hydrangea Stripe Blanket (typepad.com)
Row 75: Switch to spice, chain 2 (counts as first dc), dc in each stitch to end.
Row 76: Chain 2, *skip next stitch, 2tc, chain 1, 2tc in next stitch, skip next stitch, dc in next stitch*, repeat to end, dc in final stitch.
Row 77: Switch to lipstick, chain 2, dc in next stitch, *2tc, chain 1, 2tc in chain space of previous row, dc in next dc of previous row*, repeat to end.
Row 78: Chain 2 *2tc, chain 1, 2tc in chain space of previous row, dc in next dc of previous row*, repeat to end, dc in final stitch.
Row 79: Switch to candyfloss, repeat row 77.
Row 80: Repeat row 78.
Row 81: Switch to proper purple, repeat row 77.
Row 82: Repeat row 78.
Row 83: Switch to turquoise, chain 2, skip next stitch, tc in next stitch (this represents our first tc2tog), *htc in next stitch, dc in chain 1 space, htc in next stitch, tc2tog over next 2 trebles, skipping dc in between*, your last stitch will be a tc2tog over the last tc and the second turning chain from the row below..
Row 84: Chain 2, htc in SAME stitch, htc in each stitch to end.
