So, again I have allowed my stitching to pull ahead of my writing. I had my second Covid vaccine yesterday, so I'm glued to my sofa today, feeling pretty rough, but trying to catch up. I also picked K(14) up from camp last night (along with his suitcase full of wet and dirty washing!) but he had a wonderful time, and is even talking about going back as a volunteer once he is old enough. 💕 In my last post we had just completed row 66 (you can find that post here: https://nataliemccrochet.blogspot.com/2021/07/attic24-sampler-blanket-part-5.html ) Row 67: Switch to blush, chain 2 (counts as first htc), htc in each stitch to end. Row 68: Switch to violet, chain 1 (doesn't count as a stitch), dc in the same stitch, *skip 1 stitch, make a V stitch in the next stitch (tc, ch, tc), skip 1 stitch, dc in the next stitch* to end, dc in the final stitch.   So, after those pesky ripples of last time, I wanted to work a simple, soothing stitch.. And what better than the sweetpea, or trellis, stitch. I also opted for soft pastel shades for these few rows. Row 58: Change to sherbet, work the sweetpea stitch as per the Attic24 blog  Attic24: Trellis Stripe (typepad.com)  S imply put.. chain 3 (counts as first tc), tc in next stitch, tc in next stitch, *skip next 2 stitches, (2tc, chain 1, 2tc) in next stitch, skip next 2 stitches, tc in next 3 stitches* repeat from *-* If your stitch count is still 150, you will find you have 3 stitches left over (see pic) tc in each of these 3 stitches also. So I  thought I'd start today's post by sharing a little about myself.. When I'm not crocheting, I'm home educating my youngest child, or helping with various things at our church. I also enjoy reading crime novels and historical fiction. During term time I usually fit my crochet time in in the evenings, hence the need for an apology for my photos! I'm normally fighting a losing battle with the daylight, and I sometimes feel the electric lights really don't do justice to the colours. But on the nicer days - and lets face it, they're not super frequent here in Scotland 😂 - I do try to get outside as much as possible. My crochet blankets have thus been spotted in many local parks! So today's post will cover rows 27-44. It sounds like a lot, but there's only one new stitch to learn, and it's a nice relaxing one! So here goes... Row 27: If you're following my colour order, switch to blush. Chain 3 (counts as first treble crochet), tc in each stitch to end. Row 28: This is the first 'crossed trebles' row, also known as the meadow stitch. You can find a detailed tutorial here:  Attic24: Meadow Stripe (typepad.com)   but here's the short version: chain 3 (counts as first tc), tc in next stitch, *skip one stitch, tc in next stitch, tc in skipped stitch - one pair of crossed trebles made*, repeat from *-* until there are only two stitches remaining, tc in each of these stitches. Ta-dah! It can feel a little awkward at first, but after a few rows, it begins to flow. Row 29: Switch to wisteria, work a crossed trebles row. Row 30: Work a crossed trebles row.
