Attic24 sampler blanket part 5

 So, after those pesky ripples of last time, I wanted to work a simple, soothing stitch.. And what better than the sweetpea, or trellis, stitch. I also opted for soft pastel shades for these few rows.

Row 58: Change to sherbet, work the sweetpea stitch as per the Attic24 blog Attic24: Trellis Stripe (typepad.com) Simply put.. chain 3 (counts as first tc), tc in next stitch, tc in next stitch, *skip next 2 stitches, (2tc, chain 1, 2tc) in next stitch, skip next 2 stitches, tc in next 3 stitches* repeat from *-* If your stitch count is still 150, you will find you have 3 stitches left over (see pic) tc in each of these 3 stitches also. This is sweetpea row one.



Row 58: Chain 3 (counts as first tc) tc in next 5 stitches (note: this differs from the original pattern and takes into account our 3 extra stitches) *skip next 2 stitches, (2tc, chain 1, 2tc) in next stitch, skip next 2 stitches, tc in next 3 stitches*, repeat from *-* until end. This is sweetpea row two.


Row 59: Switch to spring green, repeat sweetpea row one.
Row 60: Repeat sweetpea row two.

Row 61: Switch to toy, repeat sweetpea row one.
Row 62: Repeat sweet pea row two.

Row 63: Switch to soft peach, repeat sweetpea row one.
Row 64: Repeat sweetpea row two.

Row 65: Switch to fuschia purple, chain 3 (counts as first tc), tc in each stitch to end. Note: for the purpose of this row, each tc and each chain 1 counts as a stitch.
Row 66: Chain 2 (counts as first htc) htc in each stitch to end.

And there you have it! Beautiful pastel sweetpeas adding a touch of elegance to the blanket.

So today's post will cover rows 27-44. It sounds like a lot, but there's only one new stitch to learn, and it's a nice relaxing one! So here goes... Row 27: If you're following my colour order, switch to blush. Chain 3 (counts as first treble crochet), tc in each stitch to end. Row 28: This is the first 'crossed trebles' row, also known as the meadow stitch. You can find a detailed tutorial here:  Attic24: Meadow Stripe (typepad.com)   but here's the short version: chain 3 (counts as first tc), tc in next stitch, *skip one stitch, tc in next stitch, tc in skipped stitch - one pair of crossed trebles made*, repeat from *-* until there are only two stitches remaining, tc in each of these stitches. Ta-dah! It can feel a little awkward at first, but after a few rows, it begins to flow. Row 29: Switch to wisteria, work a crossed trebles row. Row 30: Work a crossed trebles row. Attic24 Sampler Blanket, Part 8.

I begin today with a huuuuge apology to anyone who has been following along! As I know this post is rather delayed. I've had a flare up of an old injury, so I've been following up with doctors, waiting on scans, and getting used to new medication. As ever, crochet has been my comfort and my therapy, keeping me sane. I think often of the Proverbs 31 woman, who "selects wool and flax and works with eager hands". We continue now with row 103, a ripple set up row.. Switch to shrimp. Chain 2 (counts as first htc), work *htc, tc, tc, dtc, dtc, tc, tc, htc, htc^, dc, dc, dc, dc, htc*, repeat from *-* until end, ending final repeat at ^.  Row 104: Switch to pomegranate. Work one ripple stripe.. chain 2, tc in next stitch (=tc2tog), tc, tc, *2tc in next stitch, 2tc in next stitch, tc, tc, tc, tc, tc2tog, tc2tog, tc, tc, tc, tc*, work *-* until 6 stitches remaining, work 2tc in next stitch, 2tc in next stitch, tc, tc, tc2tog. Sampler Blanket Part 1

I'm Natalie, and for the ten years or so that I've been crocheting, it's been both my happy place and my therapy. I'm a huge fan of crochet bloggers such as Lucy of Attic24, and Heather of the Patchwork Heart. I love to gift and donate handmade items, and I also have an Etsy where you can purchase my work ( NatalieMcCrochet on Etsy ). My latest finished project was the Seaside Stashbusting Blanket, by Coastal Crochet.  And this has inspired my current WIP (work in progress 😊 - got to love a bit of crochet slang 😂) my Attic24 sampler blanket. So this is my first attempt at designing something like this, and at writing up a pattern that makes sense to anyone but me!
